Buyer and Financing FAQs for Salt Lake Valley Home Buyers

Clear answers to the questions buyers ask me most. Selling first? See my Seller FAQ.

Working With a Buyer's Agent

Do I need to sign an agreement before you show me homes?
Yes. Since August 2024, buyers sign a written agreement with their agent before touring homes. It spells out what I’ll do for you and how I’m paid, in plain terms. I’ll walk you through every line before you sign.

Do I have to pay my agent’s commission?
It depends on your agreement and the deal. Commissions are negotiable. Some sellers offer to pay the buyer’s agent or give a concession, and we can also ask for it in your offer. If the seller doesn’t cover it, your agreement explains what you’d owe. You’ll know your numbers before you write an offer.

Do you work with first-time buyers?
Yes. I break the process down step by step, so you know what’s coming from pre-approval to closing. My focus is sellers, which helps buyers too: I know how listing agents think and what makes an offer stand out.

When can we meet?
I meet with clients afternoons, evenings and weekends. Call or text (385) 503-3224, or email tasha.rodriguez@exprealty.com, or book a time.
